Mystic Island Festival 2012

Maui Mystic Island Festival 2012

Dear Friends. I am happy to announce that I will be attending the Mystic Island Festival in Maui. Ohana and I have spent time with Phil healing and discussing the concerns we have had and we feel ready to give another try to participate in the gathering of the family on a very special location at Camp Olowalu on the beach. We have heard rumors that this land will soon be sold and no longer available for the public. This is an exceptional location to go out in Kayaks to be with the whales so we are even more drawn to attend. Funds are limited and in order to compensate musicians a new format has been developed which allows you to directly support the musicians you enjoy. If you are buying a ticket to the festival and you want to support my music being there please go to this link for your purchase. http://www.eventbrite.com/event/2515774750/Wind
Thank you and we hope to see you there.

On Saturday, November 6, Grandmother Agnes Baker Pilgrim, Takelma Siletz tribal elder of Grants Pass, will present a feature-length film describing her work with the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers.
“For the Next 7 Generations: the Grandmothers Speak” tracks this delegation of grandmothers as they carry their messages of peace and healing to the Americas, Asia, Africa and Europe.  The film captures heart-warming scenes of the grandmothers’ dedication and resolve, for example, their strategy meeting with the Dalai Lama about making proposals to the Pope.
Proceeds benefit the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers (www.grandmotherscouncil.org).  It was founded in 2004 as a global alliance of prayer, education, and healing, for our planet and all its inhabitants for seven generations to come.
The screening will open with Whistling Elk Drum, flute by Grammy-nominated Gentle Thunder, and original music by Windsong and Kat Del Rio.

The film is directed and produced by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Carole Hart and narrated by actress Ashley Judd.  The score is by Emmy Award-winning composer Peter Buffett.  To purchase home DVDs, visit www.ForTheNext7Generations.com
